For this tutorial you will need:

Psp

A font of your choice, preferebly a big one.
(I used Aapex)



Open up an image the size you want.
I used the 250*75 pixels and size 48 on the text.
select the text tool.
Add the text you want. If you want the black line around the letters
set a colour on styles.
Now this is what you will see on your layer palette.



Now click the little + and this is what you will see...



Now right click where it says the word you added.
Then click convert text to curves/ as character shapes.
This is what happens then ...



So you have now got each letter on it's own. Double click the first letter.


Change the colour where it says Fill.
Do this on each letter till you are satisfied with the result.
To keep the background transparent save as .gif
If you want to animate the picture it might be best to save as .psp
