Tutorial written by Nemesis
For this tutorial you will need:
The font I used is called Beta Block.
You can find it here...
Open up an image 500*700 pixels with a transparent background.
If your name has more letters in it then mine then make your image higher.
Then select your picture tube tool and add your tube with 50% scale.
Add a new raster layer (layers/ new raster layer).
Select your text tool and add the first letter of your word/name
with these settings...
Then press ctrl + d to deselect. Add a new raster layer and add the next letter.
Do this until you got all your letters on a separate layer.
Then use the mover tool and move them into place, you should have something like this...
Now hide the snake layer (click on the glasses for that layer on the layer palette.)
Then go to layers/ merge/ merge visible. Make your snake layer visible again.
Now with the merged layer highlighted on your layer palette click the Deformation tool.
Then pull the end nodes until your name is as high as the snake.
Then drag the middle node outwards a bit so that your text gets a bit wider.
You should have something like this now...
Press apply in the tool box.
Then go to effects/ 3d effects / inner bevel and add with these settings...
Add the same inner bevel again. Use the mover tool place the snake like so...
Highlight the layer with the snake and use the selection tool
to select it. Click the image once to tighten the selection around
the snake then go to selections/modify/contract and contract with 1.
Then Higlight the text layer, select the eraser tool and erase the text from
the head of the snake. You will notice when you erase that only the text
within the selection will go away so there's no need to be careful.
You should have something like this...
Now go to layers / merge / merge visible.
Then add a new raster layer. Pic up your air brush and
Use these settings on the spray tool.
Size: 20 Hardness: 100 Opacity: 100 Step: 1 Density: 25
Use the dropper to select a colour from the snake then spray like this...
To get some more depth in the background use several colours.
Go to effects/ blur / gaussian blur and add with a radius of 10.
Then go to effects/ texture effects/ weave. Add with these settings...
Move this layer to the bottom (layers / arrange/ send to bottom)
Merge visible again. Use your crop tool and crop to a suitable size
Then save as .Jpg and you are done !
Hope you had fun!
Happy psp.ing :0P
