Ok many of you will look at the picture and say Noo way! I can't
do that ! But YOU CAN, it's not hard at all :o)
For this tutorial you will need the following...
Psp 7
Animation shop
Eyecandy, can be done without too but not with the same effect.
If you don't have eyecandy just use inner bevel instead.
This gradient if you want the same as I'm using...
Look in the how 2 section for instructions how to import gradients.
Blue gradient
The font I used is called Broadway.
Now lets get started !
Open up an image 400*150 pixels with a transparent background.
Select the text tool and add text with these settings...
Now we got the text up with the gradient filling.
So the next thing we are going to do now is to go to
effects/ plugins/ eyecandy 4000/ glass add with the following settings.
If you have your image selected with the marching ants
then deselect or you will get two frames opening in animation shop.
Now we are done in psp for now so save your image as .PSP
Open up animation shop and browse to find your image.
Open it and then go to effects/ insert image effect.
Make sure you have animation frame ticked.
Set the effect length to 1,0 secs and frames per second to 7 fps.
Set the effect to Underwater then click costumize.
Now you will see this box...
The 13 waves you make similar to what I got,
12 short ones and one a bit longer. To show you how small they
are I took this screen shot, why not play a little with the effect here
Try out what the long waves and the short one actually does. :o)
Now when this is done click ok and then ok again.
Now you can see how it looks, pretty good huh!
The animation looks better if you go to your first frame and delete it.
This you do by going to the first frame
(nr 1) Then click on it once then right click on it and pick delete.
Now to make the image look better we want to add a drop shadow to it.
We didn't do this before because we didn't want the wave effect to go on the shadow too.
So now go to edit/ select all then to file / export to paint shop pro.
this opens the image up in paint shop. like this...
Highlight the first layer as you can see on the pic then go to
effects/ 3d effects/ drop shadow. Now add with Vertical and horizontal = 2
Opacity= 79 and blur= 8,5. Now highlight the next frame and add with the same
settings then do this till you are done with all frames.
When done click the red x as if you where to close the image
a box will pop up and ask you if you want to update before closing
Click YES! Now you're back in animation shop so all there's left is to save
as a .gif and you are done !!
See that wasn't so hard was it ? :o)
If the text and the effect doesn't optimize as it
should then go to the how 2 section to check how to
set your optimizing settings :o)
